Pickerington, OH: A City with a Rich History

Pickerington's location has been strategic because it sits between Columbus and Lancaster, where other cities can't compete economically or culturally. Pickerington served as the first county seat of Fairfield County in 1809 when Pickaway was divided into two counties: Pickaway and Ross. The town itself dates back to 1797 when settlers built three blockhouse forts along the main streets, known as the Henry Homestead, Fort Friel & Fort Jackson Historic Sites. Today Pickerington stands out from other Ohio towns by having its outdoor amphitheater that hosts live performances throughout the summer months called Center Stage at Heritage Park Amphitheatre (CSAHP).
