A Family Law Firm with a History

Larrimer & Larrimer, LLC has been fighting for Ohio’s injured workers for 90 years.

Richard N. Larrimer founded our firm in 1929 after graduating from Ohio State University Law School in 1925. Initially, Richard’s practice was one of general litigation. However, he began to focus on workers’ compensation in the late 1920s at a time of bitter labor unrest in southeastern Ohio’s coal-mining region. At that time, John L. Lewis retained Richard to represent nine mine workers charged with criminal assault and murder arising out of a gun battle that took place during a strike confrontation with Pinkerton agents hired by the mine owners.

Richard’s successful resolution of those criminal cases led to his long-term relationship with the United Mine Workers in handling their workers’ compensation claims. Richard’s skill and expertise became recognized throughout Ohio and his workers’ compensation practice rapidly expanded out of and beyond the coal mines.

In 1961, Richard Larrimer’s nephew, Gavin Larrimer, joined the firm. In 1974, Richard’s son, Terrence Larrimer, joined. Thereafter, Richard’s nephew, Paul Navin, and attorney Craig Aalyson joined as partners.

Over the last 20 years, a new generation of partners has emerged. Our firm now includes Columbus workers comp attorneys Joseph F. Navin II, John Larrimer, Courtney Larrimer-Klatt, Darla Kaikis, and Aaron Bucco.

In addition, associate attorney Thomas Reitz joined the firm in 2004. He focuses on trial litigation and manages cases appealed to the Court of Common Pleas. In 2005, associate attorney Paul R. Goodburn joined the firm to represent on the job injuries before the Ohio Industrial Commission throughout Ohio.

From defending nine coal miners who fought for their own safety 90 years ago to making sure injured workers throughout Ohio get the medical care and benefits they deserve today, the attorneys at Larrimer & Larrimer, LLC take pride in our commitment to protecting the rights of Ohio’s workers.
